Remote management of programs is a less-than ideal operational mode due to the many challenges of operating with decision makers located away from project sites. Nonetheless, it is a mode in which organizations are increasingly working in order to meet dire humanitarian needs in contexts where access to project sites is severely limited. Remote managers and supervisors need to understand the disadvantages of remote programming and explore ways of overcoming them in order to mitigate financial, reputational, and programmatic risks.
The IRC Remote Management Capacity Building project in partnership with Orange offered a 6-hour Introduction to Remote Management training in Gaziantep on November 17th and on November 18th with the participation of 62 participants in total.
The objectives of the session are to improve understanding of remote management of programs, why it is challenging, and how it can be improved. There will also be some basic tips about how to strengthen communication with remote staff and for leading remote teams. The session will be offered in English with Arabic translation.
